Children's Laureate: Chris Riddell is visiting our school on Tuesday 28th June for the day. Children wrote stories in preparation for his visit, and parents were invited into school to meet him and join in the fun.
Welcome to Rocklands Primary School
Rocklands Primary School is a small, happy school with very high standards of behaviour and attainment. As soon as you step into our entrance hall and see our displays, you will see what a vibrant place it is. Staff believe passionately in the value of learning, and we work with parents and governors to impart our enthusiasm to every child in the school. Our children are lucky to be taught in small class groups where they usually achieve very good results. In the 2014 league tables, we were once again among the highest achieving schools in Norfolk. Our 2015 data was for a very small cohort with varied needs. Their progress was in line with national progress. Read our last OFSTED inspection report.
Please contact us on 01953 483369 firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like an appointment to visit our school. We have an Open Morning in October each year.
Rocklands Primary School is federated with Great Ellingham School.
Message from the Headteacher
Rocklands School is a lovely, rural school situated about 5 miles from Attleborough. Our school is larger than it looks from the road! We have around 70 pupils in three mixed age classes. We have a well-equipped playground and access to village playing fields.
Our school is federated with Great Ellingham Primary School; a neighbouring village school. As Executive Headteacher I divide my time between the two schools. We also have an Assistant Headteacher sharing leadership responsibilities. Federation events are held on a regular basis for children. These have included Federation Sports, Teddy Bears Picnic, a London museum trip and the Year 6 residential visit to the Hilltop Outdoor Centre near Sheringham, as well as learning projects such as an International Week.
We have high expectations for our pupils; they achieve and behave well. We are a small school at the heart of our community. Ofsted have graded our school as good. We continually aim to improve our provision and outcomes for pupils. We feel this is summed up in our school motto: Small School: Big Heart: Great Expectations
and also in our Federation vision: Within the Federation of Great Ellingham and Rocklands Primary Schools every child is nurtured towards becoming a confident member of society, an inquisitive learner; and one who aspires to excellence.
Please contact the school if you need any further information or wish to visit us regarding your child’s education.
